| It's the first
leisure weekend on the boat this season and I'm outta gas and getting
hungry.
Time to lose the tiny tank and get a
bigger one.

I've
lived with the tiny gas tank for cooking on the boat for too long.
It's a 1980s era tank without the overfill protect valve. Everytime I
get it filled I have to do a song and dance to get anyone to touch it.
This season I've finally decided it's time to evolve.
I've removed the small box, solenoid, and tank. I'm
going to construct a new box using the parts from the old and re-install it
with a standard garden variety propane tank like you'd find on any grill.
Gotta love standardization.
I must get this project right, failure could result in an
exploding boat. Good thing I maintain high
standards, and have plenty of experience with high and low pressure
pneumatic systems. |

Here's
another one of those cheap projects I've been meaning to do for about 3
years; the cockpit table.
Thought I'd just buy one, but a quick search of the internet
will discourage that, as the prices range anywhere from $300 - $800 with
questionable quality judging by the remains of the one that came installed
on my boat.
I figure I can construct one for less than $100 that will
last forever with minimal maintenance.

| mmmm....
Something smells like frying bacon... Oh, damn... Pass the aloe.
I need some shade.

Contrary
to what you might think, that is not a picture of the sun, it is a view of
the top of my bald head after a day in the sun. Time to construct a
bimini top for the cockpit area. The burn - peel - burn - peel cycle
must be broken. As long as I'm at it, might as well replace that worn
out old dodger too.... winch covers??? line bags??? helm
cover??? Oh boy, the ever expanding project... here we go again. |

This is my inspiration....
Now I just have to learn how to sew.
(been a year... still haven't learned how to sew) |
It's smelling a
little stale on board. Time to work on some ventalation.

The
summer of 2010 has been a wash. My first mate was diagnosed with
breast cancer on the 23rd of February and the boat has barely been opened
since. It's a little less than fresh inside, need to get some
ventilation going. I have two solar vents that don't work and are
beyond simple repair. Time to dig in and try some fabricating. |

Boat repair?
I'm trying to think, but nothing's happening.
